Hi Jolly,
Oh, I hear and understand what you are saying here. I have wondered about this myself. Shocked  I have a few friends, who have recorded some CD's and they tell me, that most of the time the songs are already written and may not fit on the current CD. Or they are written by the Drummer and they want to try something different on that track. Maybe to expand their Musical knowledge and style.
As you already know. sometimes, it does not work very well. It is Hard to change a song once it is on Paper. The writer may feel that what he has done is not good enough for the Band or Group. Crying or Very sad
On the other hand, the Music company may say. "Lets get this CD out now! Use this one and that one!!" And there you go, with the Bad tracks on the CD!! Confused

I like the Vocals in most of the tracks here!!  Very Happy  I grew up with R&B and I don't mind the Vocals of that type. However, Rap is out of the question here!  Evil or Very Mad  I feel that it has very little bussiness in Smooth Jazz!!  Shocked Now, I did rate one track very highly that had some Rap on it.  Embarassed
Now some songs are mostly Vocal. That was the way they were Composed. Other Artists record them and leave out the vocals and just have a small amount of vocals in the song.
Also, it is a matter 'Taste'! Most the song I hear here are in Good taste. Most people want to just listen to the Instramental side of a song and nothing else. Keep your Ears open!
