Rob, can the system do this, as far as you know?

On one or two occasions, I have voted on a track with a 2.0 rating where my vote has brought it down below 2.0. I'm pretty sure I have heard that track quit playing abruptly, as if it had been "hooked" out of the playlist shortly after the vote total reached less than 2.0.

Is this possible?

I have started to run a script once daily that removes tracks that have 3 or more votes and the rating is less than 2.

Like, literally, LESS than 2? 1.99? or will a 2.0 be removed as well?
Just curious

Yay!
Glad to see a slight return to good sense in Denver; sad that we have list, in the last year, many SJ radio outlets; makes it hard to expose new artists to new listeners who are not able to listen on the 'net.

Now if we could just get New York, and other cities to return to the fold!

FM5280 was THE MOST UNIQUE station I have EVR encountered, and it was impossible to stay away... I'm quite sad it has gone bye-bye..

Consider this another vote for its eventual reactivation

best regards - Bruce "dagnome"

PostForum: Smooth Jazz Discussion   Posted: Sun Sep 23, 2007 12:30 am   Subject: I've ALWAYS loved SKY.FM Smooth Jazz
Especially the Sunday Morning (PST) Live Video show.
Jimi King is a great Programme Director (and the first to ever play Rocco Ventrella, I believe)

While the station does not have the cool interactivity we had here, the music is absolutely first class...

So - check them out!

(I also like Bay Smooth Jazz as well)

Greetings to all my old friends here...

FYI - Rocco's CD is #21 on the Indie Charts this week - and we're going out to R&R stations with a new single edit of On The Night - wish us luck!

Sad

Rob

this is truly sad news - I can tell you that FM5280 has quickly become my favorite station and I've been a loyal listener since I found you some months back.

I'd like to thank you , on behalf of myself and my artist Rocco Ventrella, for the efforts you have put forth to expose our music to new listeners. We've been happy to support your station and will be VERY sad to see it go off the air Crying or Very sad

This despite all of our efforts to keep indie broadcasters alive...

best of luck in your new efforts - Bruce (a.k.a. dagnome)

Yep, and I found the one of Rocco being interviewed on that London? radio station. I wasn't able to view it all, did you get in on it also, I know he mentioned your name.

Yes - we both were there in the studio - actually it was arranged with Jimi King to coincide with Rocco's return home from the CD recording sessions and my visit to London on business. That day was the exclusive world premiere of many of the tracks from Give Me The Groove. Imagine our surprise on Dec 31st when Jimi revealed Soulful Strut as his number One Smooth Jazz track of 2006!

If there are any of you who do happen to tune into terrestrial radio, and enjoy Rocco's music, we'd appreciate a little assistance in requesting something from his CD be played on your local FM Smooth Jazz station
(or possibly even another Internet Radio station - sacrilege!).

This is a critical time, as radio adds will being more visibility, and eventually, opportunities for Rocco to tour and play live. Breaking a new independent Smooth Jazz artist these days is an AMAZINGLY difficult thing, but with your help, it can be done.

thanks a lot, in advance! ~ dagnome

and, BTW, Yes - I produced the CD, so I DO have a personal interest in this, but Roccos a really GREAT player and deserves a chance to shine.

Not trying to make MORE work for you, but here's an interesting suggestion...

What if there were a checkbox on the Now Playing (Lite) page that said
"add this track to 'Your Show' pool?" [ ]

Many times I hear great stuff as the day goes by, but never can find time to get back to adding it from the Requests page...

Just a thought - I know you have plenty of other things to do...

I think it might have been the PSA that got me scratchin' my head and wondering how helpful an INTERNET radio alert could really be - Wink

I DO remember that every time one of them came on, though, it was an instant tune-out! Shocked

I wouldn't miss ;em, Rob - but I'm only one listener... Rolling Eyes

While I have no doubt that Amber Alerts are useful, what I wonder is:

Is there a point to audibly broadcasting this info on an Internet radio site that is utilized in a non-mobile environment most of the time?

I mean, how many of are lucky enough to have FM5280 playing in our car, where I think the majority of Amber Alert attention is directed?

Just curious - I mean no disrespect to the Amber Alerts, or to this station for incorporating them... all I'm wondering is, is it helpful to HEAR them?

curious, that's all... ~ dagnome
